Cricut Create a Critter Artwork

Today I finally worked on the projects that I have been meaning to do for the kids' room. I bought the Create a Critter cartridge like 4 years ago with the intent of decorating the nursery/kids room with animals.  At long last, I actually DID it. I brought out my Cricut (dusted it off) and set to work. I cut each animal at around 3 inches, give or take a few increments. I used Mod Podge to affix my cute lil critters to the canvases and painted over them to give them a nice gloss. I used the matte finish Mod Podge but I like the result. The last picture is really shiny because I couldn't wait until it dried to take a pic!

Cheddar Betters

I was perusing Pinterest (again) this morning after watching my church service online, (Miss A was sick today, unfortunately) when I came across some recipes using Bisquick.  I was suddenly reminded that my honey loves the famous Cheddar Bay Biscuits from Red Lobster.  He raved to me a few times about trying a version of the little yummies while in Valdosta.  All the time I was thinking to myself, I bet I can do better, LOL. So better I did and this is the recipe I came up with! Enjoy!!!

1 1/2 cups of Regular Bisquick
1 1/2 cups shredded taco blend cheese
1/2 cup of italian blend cheese
1/2 cup milk
3 tbsp butter
1 tbsp italian spice
3/4 tsp garlic or garlic salt (I used garlic and salt separately)

1. Preheat oven to 400F. Spray cooking sheet with non-stick spray.

2. Mix Bisquick, cheese and milk in a bowl and mix well to form the dough.

3. Using a spoon, drop dough onto cookie sheet. Bake for about 10 minutes.

4. In a sauce pan or bowl, melt butter, oregano, and garlic salt.

5. After baking for 10 minutes, take the biscuits out and brush with butter mixture and bake for 5 more minutes or until golden brown.

What I'm Reading Now

So right now I'm obsessed with my Kindle.Yes, I have an iPad too, but guess what...I love electronics!!!  Plus I am a multi-tasking machine so of course I listen to books and read them.  The two books I am reading right now are...

I like visuals, don't you?! Anyways, I have been wanting to read A Discovery of Witches for a while after I read some reviews on Amazon.  Then of course, The Passage has also received great reviews.  My sister told me she couldn't put it down, so I was sold.  I just finished The Hunger Games trilogy, which she also recommended, and that was awesome.  Now to see the movie and probably be dissapointed. Oh well, I want more Katniss!  I'll be back with reviews of these two books but so far they are great at making me ignore the other things I have to do with my life...like unpack all the boxes in my dining room. :o)

Fabric Flower Power

Thanks to Pinterest, I found an easy tutorial for making fabric flowers. I've noticed how they have become extremely popular, so I decided to try one! Here's how it turned out:

Pinterest has a bunch of great pictures of different styles of these little cuties!  I am going to make more soon in different colors as gifts. :o) I'm thinking hair bows, necklaces, broaches, etc.  What do you use fabric flowers for?

Holiday Card

This is a card I made to try out on the new cartridge I'm loving...Damask Decor. This card is perfect for the holidays, especially for those that do not celebrate Christmas.

Cricut Damask Decor Cards

Last week I purchased the Cricut Damask Decor cartridge at Joann's Fabric for the low, low price of $29.99! That is a great deal considering that cartridge is regularly $89.99. The Damask Decor cartridge includes cards, envelopes, gift, tags, and embellishments for envelopes. I decided to try out the cartridge by making a couple of cards. I chose to keep the cards simple because I was just experimenting. How do you like them?

What projects have you done using this cartridge, I would love to see!
