Fabric Flower Power

Thanks to Pinterest, I found an easy tutorial for making fabric flowers. I've noticed how they have become extremely popular, so I decided to try one! Here's how it turned out:

Pinterest has a bunch of great pictures of different styles of these little cuties!  I am going to make more soon in different colors as gifts. :o) I'm thinking hair bows, necklaces, broaches, etc.  What do you use fabric flowers for?

Holiday Card

This is a card I made to try out on the new cartridge I'm loving...Damask Decor. This card is perfect for the holidays, especially for those that do not celebrate Christmas.

Cricut Damask Decor Cards

Last week I purchased the Cricut Damask Decor cartridge at Joann's Fabric for the low, low price of $29.99! That is a great deal considering that cartridge is regularly $89.99. The Damask Decor cartridge includes cards, envelopes, gift, tags, and embellishments for envelopes. I decided to try out the cartridge by making a couple of cards. I chose to keep the cards simple because I was just experimenting. How do you like them?

What projects have you done using this cartridge, I would love to see!

Winter Party Ideas

I've been scouring the internet for some more fun things to do for the kid's parties this winter.  Being a summer baby myself, I am finding it hard to find winter birthday activities that are as fun (to me) as summer activities.  In the past the kid's parties have consisted of lots of food, sweet treats, and... adults.  This was fine when they were turning 1 and 2, but now they are turning 2 and 3.  I have to fine some more kid friendly ideas.  But for now, I'm sticking with the adults goodies! ;o)

I thought this would be great for Deuce's party in January.

I found this option too.

Can't Forget about my Baby Boy

Just like I'm getting ready for Amari's party, I need to get ready for Deuce's 2nd birthday also. The babysitter told me that he loves her sock monkey....so that gave me an idea.

A SOCK MONKEY PARTY!

Those are some ideas that I picked up around the web.  I should check Pintrest to see what other cute ideas I can find. Lord knows I'm not crazy about red, but I'll stomach it for my little prince!

Bloggin with Breakfast

I love when grease pops on my toes.  I love when the kids take out every. single. toy. in the toy box and then go to the next room.  I love when I make an all star meal and the kids refuse to eat.  That's how my Sunday morning has been going....but that's OK. I made myself a southern breakfast of champions!

Had to throw in some Starbucks coffee too.  So delicious.  Now the kids are terrorizing Grandma...upstairs.

Hello Kitty Inspiration

During my blog searching today I found this awesome site. It's called Celebrations at Home. There is a tremendous amount of ideas and fun things to try.  On the site, the author has a section where you can search for parties by color. BINGO! I searched for pink of course (my fave, fave, fave, color) and found this adorable Hello Kitty Party!  It's even got my second favorite color in it, green. So it turns out that this party came from a site called Charm Event Design.  A wonderful site as well! Please check out both of these site for lots of cool party ideas. w00t w00t!

I can totally do all of this with my Cricut Expression! I'll just need a little help from the SIL.

I think I need to get started. Her birthday is in December, right before Christmas...

Key Lime Cupcakes

Lately, I have been on a cupcake kick.  Last weekend I made chocolate chocolate chip cupcakes with Nutella frosting.  Didn't take pictures unfortunately, but they were sooooooo good.   I had my sights on making some key lime cupcakes ever since I went to the Atlanta Cupcake Factory with my sis.

The kids and I went to the Farmer's Market this morning to get some limes so that I could take the plunge. So I finally made them! The frosting is to DIE for... I can improve upon the cake part though.  They are still delicious for a first attempt (no recipe).  I ended up zesting about 10 limes between the frosting and the cake.  I want the cake to be more key lime tasting, so I will need more limes next time.  They sure are pretty!!!

Look what I got!!!!

I am now the proud owner of a 13" beauty named Macbook Pro. Thank you Peachmac!

FIELD TRIP!!!

I love my job! I get to go on field trips just like the good ole' days in elementary school.....well kind of except now I'm in charge. Bwaaahhhhhaaahhhaaaa! So I took my kids on a field trip to the Fernbank Science Center and Planetarium in Atlanta. They weren't thrilled at first, but as the day progressed they started having fun as youngsters do. My trusteeeeee co-workers decided to tag along for the ride too.  I definitely think we had more fun than the kids. Oh well, they need to lighten up anyway!

I should delete this...

Sweet Baby Cakes

This was my first attempt at a diaper cake for a Noah's Ark themed shower for twin boys.  I used my Cricut Expression and used the Create A Critter cartridge. The lucky mommy surely needed those diapers and I was happy to oblige! I hope to expand my repertoire and move on to more sophisticated diaper cakes like these....

Death By Chocolate

It would be a worthy death. Don't you think? This is my newest obsession, thanks to a certain someone.  I've set my sights on making this plate of deliciousness a wonderful reality... diet be damned.  Baby steps, baby steps....30 pounds will take time so, for now, on with the chocolate CAKE! Click here to join me. ;o)

Water, Water Everywhere

Family day at the lake. Lake Allatoona to be exact. Lake Allatoona is a beautiful lake close to Atlanta, Georgia.  It's the most popular lake in Georgia and among the most visited in the whole United States. It's run by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers who built it in the 1950s. Anyways, it was fun and we loooooooved it!

Kids, food, water, and spirits of course.  We all worked on our tans.  The weather was great, a slight breeze to keep us cool.
